Most failed Kilimanjaro summits aren't a fitness problem — they're a pacing problem. Altitude sickness doesn't care how many marathons you've run.

We'd rather build in an extra night on the mountain than rush a client to a summit attempt with worse odds. It's a longer trip on paper. It's a better one in practice.
